Beautiful flower beds in the country with their own hands are simple. Photo ideas of a beautiful flower bed with your own hands from improvised materials. How to make from waste material

Proper design of flower beds in the country is an important component of the landscape design of the site. A flower garden can serve not only as a picturesque corner and a bright accent, but also as a link between green spaces and buildings. In this article, we will take a closer look at how to competently and beautifully create a flower bed design in the country.

General information

First of all, it should be said that people usually use the words "flower garden" and "flower bed" as equivalent. However, to be precise, the flower bed has an exact geometric shape. It can be rectangular, oval, round, etc., while the flower garden has an arbitrary shape.

Often, flower beds are made in the most bizarre forms, for example, in the form of a silhouette of animals or other figures. In fact, a flower garden is a spontaneous flower bed for which there are no design laws.

Design options

The most common types of flower beds

Before organizing a flower bed in the country, you should think carefully about how it will fit into the overall design of the site, whether it will stand out from the general style decision. There are many interesting ideas, and each of them is interesting in its own way, but you should choose based on the surrounding landscape design.

Rabatka It is a colored flower bed of a rectangular shape. As a rule, flowers of the same height are planted on it or create the effect of multi-tiered. It looks very interesting on the inside of the rabatka - this is an original solution for spacious areas.
Mixborder This complex name denotes a free-configuration flower garden familiar to many. Designers actively use such flower beds at their summer cottage when decorating the landscape. The main rule when making a mixborder is that it should always be in bloom.
Flowerbed-monoflower As it is not difficult to guess from the name, flowers of the same color grow in such a flower bed. This option is suitable for beginner gardeners who are just thinking how to create a beautiful flower bed in the country. Despite its simplicity, the monotonous flowerbed looks very impressive.
vertical As a rule, such flower beds are a pyramid of several pots. Each pot usually has different flowers. I must say that vertical structures belong to the "aerobatics" of backyard design.
From stones and chain-link mesh To create beautiful flower beds in the country from stones, you will need some skills. Such flower beds resemble mountain serpentine. Alpine forget-me-not, primrose or viola look especially beautiful on them.

Advice!
If you have just purchased a summer cottage, but want to arrange it as quickly as possible, you can pay attention to country houses from block containers.
Their installation does not take as much time as building houses from traditional materials.

Basic design rules

Of course, how to make a flower bed in the country - everyone must decide for himself, in accordance with his individual preferences. However, there are some rules that it is undesirable to violate, otherwise the result may be the opposite of what is expected.

  • Flowers are best placed in groups, since random flowering does not create the desired visual effect.
  • When planting plants, you should come up with some kind of logical arrangement for them.. For example, if the flower bed is round, you can make rings of different colors. If the site is rectangular, it can be decorated with colored soft waves.

  • The design of flower beds in the country usually turns out to be beautiful if the height of the plants is taken into account.. Flowers with a long stem should be placed in the background, and with a low stem - in the foreground. If tall flowers are planted ahead, then no one will appreciate all the beauty behind them.
  • An important point is regarding the cardinal points. Most often, flower heads reach for the sun. Therefore, the least attractive view is obtained from the north side.
  • When planting seeds, it is necessary to leave space between groups of flowers, no matter how much you want to completely sow the entire area with flowers. Otherwise, the composition will resemble a forest lawn, where there is no place for order.
  • To prevent plants from overgrowing, gardeners between plantings make a kind of border of crushed stone or sand..
  • As mentioned above, country design and flower beds should visually harmonize with each other.. If the flower garden is not combined with the landscape design, then no matter how beautifully you decorate it, the overall result will be unattractive.

Here, perhaps, are all the principles of design. If flower beds are located near the recreation area, for example, near the gazebo, then you can make the lighting of this area for relaxation in the dark.

Advice!
If the site is not connected to the power supply, renting a diesel generator for a summer residence will help solve the problem.

Making flower beds from improvised materials

Often, summer residents make very beautiful country beds from improvised materials on their plots.

In particular, for their borders they usually use:

  • Tree cuts;
  • Old car tires;
  • Natural stone;
  • Brick;
  • All sorts of unnecessary household or even kitchen utensils;
  • Old furniture etc.

Making such flower beds with your own hands is not at all difficult. The most important thing is to show a little imagination. For example, if you just plant a flower in a car tire, it will look pretty boring. But if you paint the tire and build something like a flower pot out of it, the result will look completely different.

A flower garden made of glass bottles looks very interesting. For those summer residents who have masonry skills, it will not be difficult to lay out a structure made of brick or natural stone. True, in this case, the price of materials will be higher.

Here, in fact, is the entire instruction for decorating flower beds in the country. By approaching this issue creatively, you can turn the site into a real work of landscape art at no special cost.

Conclusion

Flower beds are the easiest and most effective way to decorate a summer cottage. Moreover, if properly arranged, they will perform their function throughout the summer season. For example, autumn flower beds in the country can "please the eye" until the onset of cold weather.

Do you want to decorate the site with original garden beds, but do not know where to get ideas from? Here you will find the best examples of flower arrangements that will transform your garden in a matter of moments! We will tell you how to make a beautiful flower bed with your own hands, give examples and several master classes with photos.

A do-it-yourself flower bed is one of the best ways to decorate a site, add originality and expressiveness to it. A beautiful flower bed will become the most attractive corner of your yard and, perhaps, even a kind of link that unites the house, garden, plants and outbuildings into a single harmonious composition. You can use absolutely any materials, even the most unusual ones, to make flower beds.

Regardless of the attractiveness of the flowers, a flower bed that does not have a fence will look unfinished. The fenced flower bed will immediately change, become more accurate. Such fences, by the way, are necessary not only to mark the boundaries, but also for many other purposes - for example, they prevent the spread of plants (especially ground cover plants) around the site. In addition, the sides protect fragile shoots from pets walking around the site.

Of course, today ready-made forms and fences for flower beds are sold, made of wood, stone, plastic and even metal, however, after construction / repair work, there are always surpluses of building materials, pipe cuttings, wood, pieces of bricks - in a word, everything that you want can be used to make lovely flower beds. For example, the remnants of linoleum or metal tiles can serve as fences.

Polyethylene packaging is a real problem for a responsible summer resident. The solution may be to use plastic bottles to create flower beds. This solution is recommended for areas where there are a lot of moles - the bottles from which the flower fence is made will become a serious obstacle for pests. You can even alternate bottles of different colors to make the composition look more colorful.

Note! Before digging in, it is advisable to fill the bottles with sand or soil - so they will not deform and become more stable.

New life for old things - we use improvised means!

People often transport unnecessary things to the country. Various chests, boxes, chairs, shoes and clothes - all this is living out its last days here to finally dry out or burn in a fire. But from old things you can also make beautiful and original flower beds!

Some flowers spend the winter in the apartment, and they are transported to the site only in the summer. But they do not have to be planted in the ground - you can leave them directly in the box, and then, when autumn comes, move them back to the house.

More boxes can be used to create vertical flower beds. Conditions like these are ideal for hanging crops and succulents. You can hang these designs on a wall, fence or other vertical surface.

If you have drawers from old chests of drawers or nightstands lying around, do not rush to send them to the landfill - instead use them to organize a compact flower bed. The color and shape of the boxes can be different, as well as the general style. But all of them will be harmoniously united by flowers.

Sometimes even seemingly useless things like old shoes can find a new life. You can plant flowers there, and then hang your shoes somewhere (even by the laces). At the same time, the older the shoes, the better - there will certainly be no stagnation of water in leaky shoes.

Another option for creating an original flower bed is to use an old iron cage. Plant climbing crops in it and hang it on a tree or inside a gazebo.

Very unusual flower beds are also made from glass wine bottles. This is guaranteed to wow your guests! But be careful when separating the bottom, otherwise you can cut yourself.

A small but very functional flower bed can be made from a piece of burlap. Make a bag out of the material, hang it, for example, on some kind of pole. Tellingly, it is suitable for both flowering crops and fragrant herbs (you can add the latter to tea directly from the "bed").

To create a flower bed, those things that just lie on the street can also be used. A striking example of this is a dilapidated log. Take it, cut a longitudinal recess and plant flowers there (this option will be described in more detail below).

A stump that could not be disposed of can also turn into a flower bed. Tie pots to it with wire, plant spectacular falling flowers there.

But another option is a milky river, as if pouring out of a can. But in this case it is very important that the green background is solid.

Is your old bike no longer a means of transportation? But you can turn it into a highlight of your garden! Paint it, and instead of the trunk, install such a container with flowers.

The next example is already a complete composition. Combine old garden tools with flowers, experiment.

A massive stone vase will also look good in the form of a flower bed. Alternatively, you can use a large clay pot for this purpose (this one can stand in the open for several seasons).

Today, mailboxes are almost never used, but you shouldn't throw yours away! Make such a compact flower bed out of it and hang it on the gate.

Master Class. DIY vertical flower bed

Vertical beds have become increasingly popular in recent years. Consider a small step-by-step instruction for making such a flower bed using multi-colored flowers. The best option for composition is, of course, .

For work, you will need the following consumables:

  • wire mesh;
  • plastic ties;
  • soil mixture for flowering crops;
  • large flower pot;
  • strong cellophane.

After preparing everything you need, get to work. For the convenience of visitors, the information is presented in the form of a table.

Table No1. Instructions for creating a vertical flower bed for the garden.

Steps, photoDescription of actions

Take the wire mesh and make a cylinder out of it, which will serve as a vertical base. Use plastic ties to fasten the edges of the mesh. Place the resulting cylinder into the flower pot.

Take strong cellophane and wrap it around the wire mesh.

Using the same plastic ties, attach the edges of the film to the vertical base.

Fill the resulting form with a pre-prepared soil mixture for flowering crops.

Also fill the flower pot with soil (this will make the wire mesh more stable).

Cut holes in the film for planting flowers. Be sure to do this in a checkerboard pattern.

Plant flowers in the holes, then carefully water.

Also plant a few plants on top (also water them afterwards) to make the composition look complete.

Water the finished vertical flower bed regularly, fertilize in a timely manner. In this case, it will look the same as in the photo (or even better!).

Master Class. Flowerbed "Palette" do it yourself

We are all artists at heart, and therefore the creation of something beautiful (including an ordinary garden flower bed) must be approached creatively.

To make such a flower bed yourself, first decide on the flowers that will decorate it.

In addition, you will need pots in which the seedlings will be transplanted and where they will bloom throughout the summer.

Also prepare a rake and a shovel - they will also be required.

As a base, you can use a sheet of plywood, foam (not recommended, because the material is light, it can be blown away by the wind) or a furniture board.

To fix the base, prepare the clamps in advance.

You will also need paint or stain, varnish.

So, for starters, take the base and draw a palette on it with a marker.

After that, cut out the shape with a jigsaw.

This is what the finished base should look like.

After that, make fasteners. The example drawing below shows what they should look like.

For the manufacture of flower bed mounts, use the bars.

Using clamps, attach the fasteners to the base of the future flower bed.

Using pipe scraps, you can make stands for rakes and shovels.

After that, decorate garden tools - for example, paint them with polka dots or paint them in one color.

Then take the base of the flower bed and, if a furniture board or plywood was used in the manufacture, cover it with stain, and then with varnish.

Wait for the coating to dry and install the flower pots. That's it, the beautiful flowerbed "Palette" with your own hands is ready!

Master Class. Flowerbed "Turtle" from car tires with their own hands

We offer another interesting option for creating a beautiful garden flower bed. Step by step instructions are given below.

Table number 2. Instructions for making flower beds "Turtle".

Steps, photoDescription of actions

The finished flowerbed of tires will look something like this.

To get started, prepare:
- tires with spikes (2 pcs.), always one without steel cord;
- screwdriver;
- paint for external works, brush;
- self-tapping screws 3.5x55 mm (15 pcs.);
- big knife.

In a tire that does not have a steel cord, cut out the bead on both sides and cut it into four identical fragments.

As a result, you should get such elements from which paws will be made.

Cut out a pair of rectangular sections on each of the blanks.

As a result, the workpiece should look like this.

The second tire, from which the torso will be made, may be slightly larger. Mark it into six identical parts, make cuts at the border of the sidewall and tread - one narrow (for the tail), one round (for the head) and four wide (for the paws).

Insert the pre-made paws into the appropriate slots, fix each with two self-tapping screws.

Here's another photo from a different angle.

Connect the edges of each paw as shown in the image: on the one hand - with a self-tapping screw, and on the other - with a wire staple (similar to a stapler). As a result, near the body, the paw will be narrow, and on the other hand - voluminous.

Take a piece of tire, make a tail out of it and attach it with the same self-tapping screws.

You can use a spray bottle to make the head.

The hole for the head you made earlier should be such that the head itself is at a 45 degree angle. Fasten the bottle with a self-tapping screw (it must go through, as in the image).

When assembled, the flower bed should look like this.

Paint the flower bed (you can use two colors, as in the example). Protector elements can be used to emphasize the texture of the turtle. If the tires are "bald", come up with your own pattern.

Color the head too. The turtle, as you can see, smiles contentedly. Everything, the flower bed is ready (just wait until the paint dries)!

Flower beds from annuals - schemes

Flowers for flower beds are selected according to color, varieties and many other factors. And to make flower beds from annuals, the schemes of which you will find in, on your own, you do not need to have the skills of a landscape designer. The main thing is to calculate everything correctly even before the start of work and familiarize yourself with the basic rules for creating flower beds.

Master Class. DIY log flowerbed

To make such a composition, you will need the following consumables:

  • log (diameter - 40-50 cm, length - about 200 cm);
  • flower seedlings;
  • gravel;
  • primer;
  • film.

In addition, the work will need:

  • simple scissors;
  • chainsaw (can be electric);
  • wooden hammer;
  • bit.

So, everything is ready, you can proceed directly to work.

Table number 3. Instructions for creating a flower bed from an old log.

Steps, photoDescription of actions

First, peel one side of the log from the bark (this is where the chisel will come in handy).

Make cross cuts on one side of the log in increments of 50 cm and a depth of about ¼ of its diameter.

Cut off part of the log from the side where the cuts were made so that the result is a longitudinal surface.

Make cuts on this surface as shown in the image.

Using a chisel, remove the sawn pieces of wood and make a kind of "trough".

Cut the film with scissors in the shape of the resulting “trough”, and then lay it down.

Pour gravel over the film, and a thin layer of fertile soil on top.

Plant seedlings of flowers and enjoy the resulting beauty!

Master Class. DIY floating flower bed

A floating flower bed is a kind of plant island moving around a pond. It looks amazing, and making such a flower bed at home is quite simple. In fact, this is a plastic or wooden base with a sealing mesh laid on top and soil for planting flowers. Instead of soil, you can even use pebbles or hydrogel, but it is important that there are already aquatic inhabitants and other plants in the reservoir (they indicate the presence of nutrients).

What plants are suitable for this? In principle, any, but be sure to take into account the swimming ability of the structure, because too large plants can easily flood the island. Also note that it is better to give preference to crops that love moisture (sedge, lilies, papyrus, colorful potted flowers or ornamental grass).

A floating flower bed is sold today in many specialized stores, but if you wish, you can make it yourself.

First, decide what material you will use in the manufacture of the island. Determine the dimensions yourself, as well as the depth of immersion (preferably somewhere around 7 cm from the bottom). Please note that the soil should not be eroded by water. Use gravel to adjust the diving depth.

  1. A ready-made pallet (or, alternatively, a mesh pot) can be bought at the store.
  2. Also, the container can be made from boards (you get a small box with holes), treated with impregnation to protect against moisture. Such a box must be covered with spunbond or geotextile, and then covered with a drainage layer and soil.
  3. The third option is to use plastic bottles. They must be cut, holes made at the base, and then covered with the same geotextile.

It is quite obvious that a container filled with soil will not float by itself - for this it is necessary:

  • cut out of the packaging foam (this remains after the purchase of household appliances) rectangular frames that will hold the island on the surface (they are attached to the top of the flower bed, and not to the base);
  • foam the perimeter of the flower bed and its upper part with mounting foam;
  • make a pontoon out of plastic bottles along the edges of the island;
  • use an inflated car camera.

What about floating flower pots?

They can also be launched into the water, but the reservoir must be small and always without aquatic inhabitants. For example, you can cut out a base for flower pots from foam, as in the image below, which is necessary for stability on water. However, such floating pots will have to be watered regularly.

How to decorate a floating structure?

  1. You can mask the unattractive edges of the island with earth, moss or branches.
  2. You can also install LEDs on such a flower bed, the operation of which is controlled using a remote control.
  3. Finally, you can put figurines of animals or birds (for example, a ceramic stork) there.

Note! Before launching a floating flower bed, it must be tested without fail! If it is unstable, then it should be improved. Also keep in mind that flowers will grow, which will change the balance of the island.

Master Class. DIY flowerbed of old chairs

To make such an original flower bed, prepare:

  • old chairs;
  • paint in cans;
  • sandpaper.

All other materials depend solely on your imagination. You can, for example, use a wooden box instead of a pot. In any case, first remove the old paint from the chairs and carefully sand them down.

Clean the chairs from dirt and dust, then paint. It is quite obvious that it is better to do this on the street, because there is no doubt about the toxicity of the paint.

You can also paint the flower pot if needed.

When the paint is dry, you can paint the chairs. We advise you to use the acrylic paints that come with the paint-by-numbers kit for this. These are not washed off, and varnishing is not required.

Thanks to such original flower beds, it is quite possible to compose whole compositions.

This one, for example, is made from old shoes and children's sneakers that no one has worn for a long time.

As you can see, you can make a beautiful flower bed with your own hands, and there are really many options. We hope that the master classes offered here will help you with this!

Video - DIY stone flower beds

Many novice gardeners believe that creating a beautiful flower bed is not difficult at all. However, you should know some nuances in order to avoid common mistakes. Before planting plants, you should think about the size of the flower garden, choose a color scheme and style. It is important to pre-draw up a disembarkation plan and stick to it during work.

How to choose the right plants to make a homemade flower garden spectacular and truly picturesque? We will tell you about the rules for planting plants, help inexperienced gardeners choose the right seeds, and also decorate a flower bed beautifully.

It is difficult for a novice florist to create a masterpiece, but it is quite possible to repeat

General principles for creating a charming flower bed

To begin with, we will give the general principles for organizing a flower garden. What should be a flower bed in the country with your own hands for beginner gardeners? It will certainly come out spectacular if you follow our advice. Plants will be in comfortable conditions, which will affect the appearance of the flower garden. So what to keep in mind:

The flower bed is small and simple, but it is interesting

Simple and effective flower beds

We will give some examples of simple and spectacular flower beds with photos that a novice gardener can easily create. We propose to focus on the color of the flower bed, creating an elegant composition. With your own hands, you can beautifully create even the simplest shape. Each of the proposed options has its own charm, at the same time, the embodiment is quite within the power of a beginner.

Mono-flower is easy to care for, but can get bored with its monotony

A flower bed with plants of the same species looks impressive and solid. At the same time, the budget of this option is quite small. Some gardeners prefer to plant plants of the same species without any fences, arranging a flower garden along the garden path or near the house. A monocloth looks great in any environment. However, not everyone likes to observe the same type of flowers in their garden every day, and such a color composition can quickly get bored.

Regular and irregular flower beds

There are regular flower beds in which the planted plants obey strict geometry, and their flowering periods coincide. Each type of plantation occupies its own area of the area, a noticeable border is visible between them. Irregular flower beds are also called mixborders, in which plants are planted in islands, according to their own preferences. Experienced gardeners try to design a planting pattern so that one group of plants begins to bloom after another has faded.

A variant of the mixborder scheme with a description of the necessary plants

External outlines of the flower bed

It is convenient to work with a flower bed, which has a symmetrical shape - round or square. Rectangular or oval can also look quite impressive.

In those flower beds that have an overview around the entire perimeter, the plants are selected in such a way that the largest and highest are in the center, and gradually become lower towards the edges of the flower bed. If a strip of earth along the path was used under the flower bed, the plants on it should be low, about 20-45 cm. Along with flowering specimens, ordinary plantings with decorative multi-colored foliage can be used.

The easiest way is to arrange a round flower bed, and you should correctly choose its size. If the area is small, a miniature flower garden will decorate it. If there is a lot of free land, it is better to make the flower bed larger. A large flower bed is difficult to appreciate in a small area; the advantages of a small flower bed will be lost in a large area. In a small space, a flower bed can be built around a tree, picking up flowers that do not need a lot of sun. Astilbes and hostas are a good option.

Several schemes of small flower beds

In order not to make mistakes when drawing up your first flower garden, you should use a ready-made solution. To begin with, it is advisable to draw a diagram of the future flower bed on paper, and plant plants, referring to the plan. This will facilitate the planting of the flower garden and help determine the amount of planting material. We offer schemes that step by step outline the principles of creating classic flower beds of a round or oval shape:

A flower bed can be decorated with perennial cereals

We provide consistent flowering

When planning a flower bed, the timing of flowering plants should be taken into account. Ideally, the flower bed should be in bloom throughout the summer season, from April to late autumn. It's not easy to achieve this, but it's worth trying. To do this, you need to know the flowering time of the selected plants and create a flower garden based on this information:

  1. Spring. At the very beginning of spring, already in March, white and purple saffron, snowdrops and bright pansies can bloom. In April, we should expect the flowering of daisies, primrose, tulips, daffodils. Also in the middle of spring, lungworts, white scillas, liverworts, anemones, muscarines delight the eye with their flowers. In May, you can expect the activity of bulbous plants - tulips continue to bloom, and hyacinths and daffodils enliven the most nondescript flower bed. This is the time of lilies of the valley, forget-me-nots, decorative bows, bathing suits, arabis, alyssium.
  2. Summer. The beginning of summer is marked by peonies, daisies, irises, poppies, lilies. Also in June, you can expect the flowering of carnations, delphinium, bluebells, petunias, felicia. Roses are preparing for the summer flowering, at the beginning of summer they can already give a few buds. Phloxes, late lilies, dahlias, nasturtiums, cosmos bloom in July. The middle of summer is the time of daylily, astilbe, matthiola. By the end of summer, late chrysanthemums, gladioli, goldenrod, and ornamental sunflowers reach their peak of flowering. Phloxes, dahlias, astilbes and roses continue to bloom profusely.
  3. Autumn. Autumn flowers are the most persistent, they keep their spectacular appearance for a long time, sometimes until the first frost. Marigolds, dahlias, asters, late chrysanthemums cheer up with a fresh look and juicy shades. Daisies, tea roses and pansies are blooming again.

We talked about the color scheme of the composition, the timing of flowering, and also mentioned the shape of the flower garden. However, other factors should be taken into account when designing a flower bed in the country. When choosing seeds, you need to remember the quality of the soil, the illumination of the flower bed, and also take into account the height and size of future plants.

Flower bed "small but remote", tastefully designed

If you need to pick up undersized flowers, you should pay attention to bulbous species: snowdrops, crocuses, hyacinths. Among perennials, you can look at carnations, styloid phlox, primroses. Biennials also diversify the flower garden - these are daisies, pansies and small but bright forget-me-nots. If it is decided to plant annuals, purslane, petunia, marigolds are suitable as low plants.

Most of the flower garden is made up of plants of medium height. Therefore, they are subject to special requirements for decoration. In this case, you can plant iris, peonies, bluebells, astilba, chamomile, kachim (gypsum). When filling voids between perennials that have not yet become lush enough, you can plant tall marigolds, salvia, and asters. Tall plants for flower beds are delphinium, unpretentious heliopsis, decorative sunflower, fighter, lupine.

Shade-loving plants feel great near trees, or under the wall of the house. These include different types of hostas, forget-me-nots, Japanese anemones, stonecrop, geranium, astilbe, primrose, ferns.

It is highly undesirable to buy seeds with a long growing season, as you will have to tinker with them. Seedlings are sown in February - early March and require special conditions for proper growth, one of which is additional lighting.

As you can see, creating a small and simple flower bed with your own hands is not difficult when you know the basic rules and principles for organizing a flower garden. We have given easy-to-design schemes for creating flower beds. With the right choice of a place for a flower bed, if you do not forget to regularly care for the plants, flowering will continue throughout the warm season.

Dear reader! Your comments, suggestions or feedback will serve as a reward to the author of the material. Thank you for your attention!

The following video is carefully selected and will certainly help the perception of the foregoing.

Spending the summer at the cottage is great! And it's great not only to work, but also to relax. The cottage is an ideal place for outdoor recreation. And nature in the country is also created by human hands, we create those beautiful views that we admire later in the early morning with a cup of freshly brewed tea. If you put your efforts, your imagination, and of course, your soul into creating flower clubs on your site, and even with decor elements and principles, seat them with various fragrant flowers, then you will create an unprecedented environment for peace and relaxation on your site.

The first thing gardeners decorate their plots with is flowers, but they also require proper care, like other plants in the garden. If you just take the seeds and randomly scatter them in the garden, it seems that what will grow will not bring aesthetics to your garden, and you, unfortunately, will look at such a creation with despondency. But if you want to create a dream bed, then our tips will come in handy.

Creating a flower bed is not so difficult, the main thing is the right choice of plants. Some may be high, others low, and they also differ in flowering time, care and survival with other types of flowers. All these factors must be taken into account.

Perennial flowers for a flower garden in the country

When creating a flower bed, the first thing we think about is which flowers to prefer - perennials or annuals. Of course, perennials, they have much more advantages. Such flowers are planted 1 time for several years, which facilitates the work. They planted such beauty 1 time, and you can admire for several years without changing anything. It is only important to pick up flowers and make a nice composition out of them.

Flowerbeds of perennial flowers, photo

Spring flowers for a flower garden in the country

The first thing to say about spring flowers is their bloom time. Plants that have bulbs are the first to bloom. But their minus is that they bloom earlier and fade faster than others. Already at the beginning of summer, the flowers become withered and begin to fade. True, it is worth saying that spring flowers are the most beautiful, they will give the site beauty and peace. The earliest spring flowers are, of course, snowdrops. After them, hyacinths and crocuses begin to bloom. And only then daffodils and tulips bloom.

  • A very beautiful composition of spring flowers is considered to be planting hyacinths along the edge of a flower bed, and place tulips behind them. Tulips of different colors and shades will look great.
  • Round flower beds look very cute, especially if you plant tulips in the middle and add daffodils around the edges. As for flowers, the most advantageous option would be yellow tulips, and snow-white daffodil.
  • If lilies are your favorite flowers, they are best planted in compositions with flowers that bloom most of the summer.
  • Do not forget that flowers love comfort, so they need to be planted at a small distance from each other so that they do not bunch up and feel free. If you properly care for the flower bed, the flowering period can be delayed.

Summer flowers for a flower garden in the country

  • The earliest summer flower is primrose, to whom, this flower is perennial. And what a view of a flower bed with these flowers ... Primroses are planted in a special way, like a fence, in rows parallel to each other. Perennial primroses are ideally combined with violets, both in terms of growth and appearance. Also, they will be excellent neighbors with pansies or daisies.
  • The queen of flowers, the rose, is considered the summer flower. A good option would be landing with phlox.

Whatever flowers you choose for the flower bed, the very arrangement of the flower garden, style, design solution, format and method of decoration are also important. Regardless of the style, it is important to care for flowers correctly and in a timely manner. If your flowers are perennial and have been growing on the same soil for several years, they need to be fed.

  • An excellent combination of a flower garden: plant the front part of the flower garden with white and pink zinnias, plant the back part with lavater and pink cosmea, and plant cornflowers on the sides.

How to properly plan a flower bed

There are certain rules that every gardener focuses on when creating a flower garden in their summer cottage. Consider them:

  • As you know, flowers cannot live in the shade, so the flower garden is best done on the south side. If, nevertheless, you decide to plant a flower garden on the north side, then not all flowers will suit him. Choose varieties that will not be affected much by coolness and shade, such as zinnias, marigolds, delphiniums or iris.
  • When planting flowers, keep a distance between them. Too close landing is not recommended. Maybe, having made a distance, at first it will seem to you that it is huge, and the flowers in the flower bed will look rare, but then, when they bloom, you will see that this is not so.
  • Planting flowers should be done taking into account the height of the flowers. The lowest grades should always go in the foreground, then higher and higher, at the end the highest. You can find out how tall a flower will reach in the description on the package with seeds.
  • Remove flowers that have wilted after flowering. Otherwise, you risk spoiling the look of the flower garden. In addition, this method promotes re-blooming.
  • It is best to plant flowers of different varieties in the flower garden, so that in case of withering of some, the latter will delight in flowering.
  • Flowering time is also an important point, combine plants of different flowering in one flower bed so that some bloom during the day, others in the evening.
  • The layout of the flower garden before planting is required. Because you have to understand what you get in the end.
