Today I want to offer you two options for preparing chicken lula kebab at home: in a frying pan and in the oven. And also two ways to prepare pickled onions - an appetizer and a traditional kebab companion, which perfectly complements the dish. Shall we begin?!

Prepare the ingredients according to the list.

Let's start by preparing the pickled red onions as they need time to steep.

Cut the red onion into thin half rings. Boil the water. Add a pinch of black pepper and bay leaf to hot water. Place the onion in water for 1-2 minutes.

Then drain the hot water.

Add the juice of 1 lemon (or lime) and the juice of half an orange to the onion.

Also add a pinch of marjoram (fresh or dried), parsley (optional), 1-2 pinches of salt and 0.5 tsp. apple cider vinegar. Mix the onion and spices well and let simmer for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The peculiarity of this recipe is that from the moment you add the fruit juice, the onion will begin to change color. Preparation:

  1. Wash and dry the meat, cut into medium-sized pieces.
  2. Finely chop the parsley and onions, chop the hot pepper, chop the garlic and add salt.
  3. Cut the red onion thinly into half rings and pour vinegar over it. Set aside to marinate.
  4. Make minced meat and mix with onion, garlic, parsley, add chopped hot pepper, liquid smoke. Stir.
  5. Beat the finished and kneaded minced meat: lift the minced meat over the bowl and sharply throw it about 20 times. So the structure of the minced meat will become different.

  6. After the required time has passed, take the minced meat out of the refrigerator and begin to form the cutlets. Before this process, scald the skewers with boiling water.

  7. We string the finished balls onto wooden skewers or skewers and knead along their length, leaving a little space at the edges. On the grill, grill or frying pan, lula kebab is fried quite quickly. Each skewer or skewer must be turned over frequently.
