Karaoke apps for iPhone contain a large database of free songs that you can sing anytime, anywhere.

If the music does not stop playing for a second, neither at home nor at work, the bathroom has become a recording studio, friends offer to win a couple of Grammy figurines, and a digitized collection of lyrics from hundreds and thousands of songs is stored in my head, then it's time to develop skills with a vengeance!

And only karaoke can become the best help in such matters. Moreover, it is mobile. For training, you do not have to get out of the house and perform in public, for the first time you can sing into the microphone of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and be charged with unprecedented energy from your own creativity. It remains only to choose who to trust in the first place:

Yokee Music Karaoke

Perhaps the main and irreplaceable representative of the genre of karaoke applications for the iPhone, which deserves the highest ratings from community members for three reasons at once. Firstly, the library with compositions is replenished weekly, both by domestic and foreign performers - the developers closely follow the trends and try to never lag behind, at the same time spurring interest from users.

Secondly, the available songs are free and available even without registration. account... And the main reason for this is the source.

From the point of view of the interface, karaoke is thought out to the smallest detail - intuitive menus, a convenient quick access panel with useful buttons, visual tips that make it easy to understand when to sing along and where to pause. The developers haven't even forgotten about social interaction, friends, likes and comments.

But they did not take into account two things - advertising, which appears at the most inopportune moment at maximum volume, and a paid subscription of 229 rubles, which opens up too few opportunities - songs from the VIP-set, and a panel with recommendations.

StarMaker-Sing Karaoke Songs

The iPhone application is a social platform crossed with free karaoke (there are hundreds of songs of different genres and directions, and even sorted by artist, date and even the difficulty of playing!) And a special graphic editor. Essentially, StarMaker should be viewed as a social network, where the main content is the music videos of the available members, perfected with filters, stickers, text and emoticons.

It is easy to work with the platform - the developers have provided tips for beginners and tried to reduce the entry threshold as much as possible: nothing needs to be learned, nothing needs to be learned. The main thing is to sing and charge your friends and loved ones with emotions, who will definitely want to sing a duet or even a quartet!

Sing karaoke

The official software for the iPhone, which appeared in support of the "Voice" program. The developers offer to re-sing those compositions that have been in the show and share the resulting works in social networks.

Among the advantages - a thematic interface, the ability to sort the compositions according to the settings you like, precise accompanying tips that help you perform on the virtual stage and never make mistakes.

The only thing still missing is optimization. Technical problems still interfere with the mood and force, then re-select the composition, then finish authorization two or three times, hoping to finish necessary actions while the servers are available.

Ordinary karaoke today does not surprise anyone. Its boom came in the late nineties and early 2000s, when every self-respecting entertainment establishment had in its arsenal not just a karaoke room, but a VIP karaoke and even an Elite Super-VIP Karaoke. Although what is the difference - no one could tell, neither then nor now: the same worn-out playlist, the same image on the screen with views of Turkish beaches and letters running across the screen.

The accessible mobile Internet and the emergence of mobile applications breathed a second wind into the seemingly dead beast, and mobile versions karaoke suddenly gained unprecedented popularity, became in demand by a large number of users. What is the reason for such a renaissance - let's leave it to historians, psychologists and other researchers of human souls to figure it out. We'll just take a look at iTunes, take the first karaoke applications we came across on request and try to understand how they differ from each other and how they attract users.

1. Sing! Karaoke - # 1 Karaoke in the World

The number one karaoke in the world (according to the developers themselves, of course) can be found here. The application weighs 74MB and is positioned by the developers as free. But this is at first glance. On the second - the application is very, very limited in free version and immediately automatically signs the installed user for 299 rubles per week to access the full catalog of songs.

The paid playlist is really huge. True, users complain about the small number of songs in Russian, but this is understandable - the developers did not focus on the Russian and Russian-speaking market.

Briefly about the functionality:

  • Voice processing with multiple standard effects
  • The ability to record a video of your performance
  • Duet Recording
  • The ability to share your masterpiece on social media right from the app.

Naturally, a bunch of all kinds of VIP-subscriptions, from 299 to 2999 rubles. All for the money.

2. AutoRap by Smule

The second application we came across is intended for those who want to rap, but cannot. Although, what is there to be able to, read the text to yourself rhythmically and from time to time add "yo" and "yeee!". Okay, this is a lyrical digression, and now about the application

“You just talk into your phone and the app transforms your voice into rhythm perfection.” In theory, the application should automatically fit the text that you read to the track you preset. The choice of style, track - to your taste. Okay, you can probably make a rap composition from a lecture on theoretical physics.

What this application can do:

  • Instantly transforms your words into a rap song.
  • Automatically corrects freestyle. What this means - we did not understand.
  • Recreates rap in different styles and rhythms.
  • Participation in rap battles is offered.
  • Effects and overlays, no mixing of compositions.

The application, by the way, is downloaded and installed for free, but, like the previous one, it requires 299 rubles per week for the right to feel like Snoop Dogg or Eminem. Requires connection and synchronization with your Facebook account. No account - no rapper. Trouble!

    3. Free karaoke! Let's sing karaoke on YouTube with Yokee

What the app can do, or rather what it offers:

There is Russian-language content, and there is quite a lot of it. Paid content is also available in various VIP versions. From 299 rubles for the simplest VIP package, to Pro packages for 599. Sing - I don’t want to! The only thing users want is the ability to somehow regulate and customize the sound of the created compositions: “Everything is great! The sound is great! But it wouldn't be bad if somehow the keys could be transposed. And so all is well)"

    4. Vocalix

And the last karaoke app in our review for today is Vocalix. It appeared on iTunes relatively recently, but already has a 4.5 stars rating. That is why we settled on it. The application is paid, costs as much as 75 rubles, and weighs 64MB.

Judging by the declared parameters, this is not just a karaoke, but such a solid mobile cover studio. Of course, you can just sing songs to the accompaniment, or you can try to make an original piece of music.

In Vocalix, the developers offer the following user experience:

    • Karaoke mode with highlighting words (in a special selection).
    • A capella mode with overlay effects.
    • Import your own backing tracks for private use via iTunes.
    • Multiple music tracks and professional layering.
    • Professional effects applied to soundtracks and your voice.
    • Sharing songs with friends.
    • Submitting applications for adding the required backing track at your request.
    • Fast saving of received compositions.

What else? In the paid version, the catalog of songs is very large. If you have not found anything - send a request on the application website: Vocalix.ru. It is possible to select a song by genre (chanson, children's song or, for example, heavy metal), by artist, by name.

    Summary

So, judging by the huge number of karaoke applications only in iTunes, karaoke is alive, and will probably live on for a long time. Applications of this class are in demand, they are downloaded with pleasure, and most of all users are attracted by those applications that have more settings and allow them to work professionally with voice and music.

With the new Sing! App, introduced last week, you can sing your favorite song with friends around the world.

The app, written by Smule, lets you choose any song from a huge library of tracks, after which you can invite friends to join you to sing along. Singing as a duet or as a whole musical "collective" is a lot of fun.

“We believe that all people are musical by nature,” says Prerna Gupta, CEO of Khush (who recently bought Smule).

Music may be one of the earliest forms of communication, but over time it has been replaced by cell phones, email and twitter.

“We want to use this 'outdated' form of communication and bring it back to the people,” Gupta says. “Music is a new form of communication, which in modern world has not yet found the proper application. "

The application can be used not only to sing with friends. Sing! allows you to invite strangers to your impromptu choir. On the display globe, you can see where the other singers are.

You can add almost unlimited number of people. After the 2011 earthquake in Japan, for example, thousands of Smule users sang "Lean on Me" simultaneously using the Glee app.

Today, all users have access to a large number of music tracks from a constantly replenished library, but the developers are looking for new ways to replenish the content of the application by the users themselves.

Smule has launched its own network of virtual musicians, where everyone can register and create their own profile, recruit fans and create music tracks together with other network users. Networking will be built into all Smule applications, so you can develop connections with users of one application when using another application from that developer.

The main goal of the company is to create a means to bring people together through music. “We don't want people to say 'This is cool technology!'” Notes Smule co-founder Ge Wang. “We want them to say 'This is really cool!'

Sing! is already available for download on iPhone, and later the developers promise to add versions for iPad and Android.

New apps to watch out for

By using new game Turf you can become the owner of your own city. Transform your city into a virtual board for playing Monopoly. The app allows you to buy the property you are visiting and also try to steal property from other players.

Trades are done on a random basis, and money is of little value. To buy a particular location, you need to spin the wheel of a virtual slot machine.

However, each such attempt costs a certain amount of coins.

If the wheel stops in front of the "Win" box, do you get the right to take this location from its current owner, if the wheel stops in front of the "Lose" box? the attempt is considered unsuccessful and you need to try again.

The likelihood of success and the cost of the attempt depends on the value of the "object" and the activity shown by its current owner.

    PollTracker

If you want to keep abreast of the data on the election results of the current year, you just need to install the PollTracker application. The app collects data from a wide variety of sources, such as Gallup and Rasmussen, and then displays the average values. The application also allows you to view detailed analytical data, for example, data on the age and gender of those voting for a particular candidate.

The developers have finally released an iPhone version. New method for viewing Twitter feed. The application uses its own method of filtering tweets and converts messages into a digestible format, thereby greatly simplifying communication on social networks.

Will Saga be the new Siri? The app monitors your actions and makes recommendations based on your habits. For example, the app might tell you to visit a place in the area you frequent.

Saga also adds a playful element to your daily life... The app translates your daily activities into experience points, allowing you to track how your experience grows as you do something bold and different.

Photos in the album are open for commenting, uploading or emailing directly from the application.

Digg updated its mobile app this week. In addition to the most interesting and discussed on the Internet, the story of the application allows you to share the story you like with your friends in social Facebook networks and Twitter.

    Amazon Instant Video

Amazon Instant Video is now available for iPad. The app was previously available to owners of Kindle Fire tablets. All users of this application can watch videos from the Amazon library, which has 120 thousand videos. Premium users also have access to an additional list of 17,000 videos.

How many times have you come across a situation when you heard a cool song on the radio or in a YouTube video, but did not know who was singing it, and no one in the comments could say its name? In such a situation, various music recognition programs such as Tunatic, AudioTag, Shazam and Midomi will help you. In this article, we will review their main features, test them and point out the advantages and disadvantages of each.

    Shazam

Online service for music recognition that does not require file download. It is enough to press one button and the program will start listening to the track you want to find. The recording of the fragment is very fast - it takes less than 10 seconds to identify the artist. Before recording, the application asks for permission to access your microphone.

The search results will show the title of the work, the name of the artist and the album cover. You will also be asked to find a clip or purchase an mp3 file. It will be possible to watch all the songs from this album, listen to small 30-second excerpts to get acquainted with the opportunity to purchase the songs you like.

In order to start the search, you just need to go to the site and download the file with the desired fragment or point to a link to it. The site developers are encouraged to upload tracks 15 - 45 seconds long, but no one forbids you to send the entire song.

Work with formats MP3, WAV, OGG is supported. At the top of the site there is a button to switch to Russian. If the quality of the excerpt is not high and the robot cannot unambiguously determine the name, then it will offer several options.

The analysis takes place within 20-30 seconds. Unfortunately, if you hear music on the radio, you won't be able to find it right away. Therefore, you need to have time to record a fragment. The developers claim that the robot will be able to cope even with poor quality recordings.

As a result of testing, the AudioTag service was able to find all five tracks. He easily coped with both last year's compositions and songs from ten years ago. The only drawback is the need to additionally record an excerpt of the song and upload it to the site.

is a free desktop application. It can be installed under Windows and Mac OS operating systems. After a simple installation, a program window appears with the inscription “Tunatic ready. Click to identify song ". It is extremely easy to work with - just press the white button with a magnifying glass while playing a track. After connecting to the server, the message “Identifying song. Please wait "- this program collects and sends data to the server to search for matches in the database. If your microphone does not work or the music is not heard, the message “Signal too weak. Check your microphone ". If the song has been identified, the artist's name and title will appear.

The test results are as follows: out of 5 foreign songs, only 3 were found. The search for each track takes about 45 seconds. I can't say if this is a regularity or an accident, but the tracks older than 2010 - could not be identified.

    conclusions

Summing up the results of our review, I want to give first place to Shazam for almost instant recognition, as well as a wide range of solutions, both for desktop computers and for almost any mobile devices... The second place is taken by Midomi, which also quickly and accurately found the proposed tracks, and, moreover, is able to analyze recordings "on the fly" without having to download files. Third place goes to AudioTag for identifying all passages, but with the ability to search only files saved on the computer. The fourth place goes to the Tunatic program for the fact that it did not cope with all the works offered to it.
