For more than 85 years, Bryansk has been producing qualified specialists. Its history began back in 1929. At that time the university was a mechanical engineering institute. The list of his specialties included foundry, cold and hot metal processing, machine tool building, etc. Today there are much more educational programs. In addition to mechanical engineering specialties, which are core for the university, there are also economics and computer science. Applicants strive to enter this university. At the same time, they are attracted not only by a variety of specialties, but also by the low passing scores at BSTU.
Advantages of the educational institution
BSTU is a popular university among applicants. Many city school graduates choose this particular educational institution. Young people make this decision primarily because the university has been recognized as effective by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. This indicates a high-quality educational process, the use of effective teaching methods and assessment of students’ knowledge.
Bryansk (BSTU) occupies quite high positions in the all-Russian ranking. In 2016, according to the results of one study, it was assigned 126th place among other universities in our country. This indicator was due not only to the conduct of high-quality educational activities, but also to the implementation of active scientific work. Every year, young scientists from the technical university make more than 1,000 reports at conferences, publish over 900 publications, and submit dozens of interesting and relevant works to competitions.
Address, faculties and institutes of the university
BSTU is a fairly large educational institution. The Bryansk State Technical University is located in several buildings (the address of the main building is 50 Letiya Oktyabrya Boulevard, 7). The organizational structure of a modern university is represented by 6 divisions focused on providing higher education:
- educational and scientific technological institute;
- Educational and Scientific Institute of Transport;
- Faculty of Mechanics and Technology;
- Faculty of Electronics and Energy;
- Faculty of Information Technologies;
- Faculty of Management and Economics.
Among all these divisions, at the beginning of 2017, the university especially singled out the educational and scientific technical institute. It took 1st place in the ranking of structural divisions of BSTU. This institute is one of the largest and most modern in the university. Over 700 students study there. For those wishing to receive higher education here, there are 7 directions and 1 specialty, ranging from “Mechanical Engineering” to “Management in Technical Systems”.
Technical educational programs
The directions and specialties existing at BSTU Bryansk are divided into 3 groups. The first of them includes technical educational programs. Applicants from this group have a lot to choose from, because there are many directions and they are all quite diverse. There are such long-known programs as “Mechanical Engineering”, “Power Engineering”, “Technological Machinery and Equipment”, “Applied Mechanics”.
Modern areas of training are also included in the group of technical specialties. Science does not stand still, but develops and improves. For this reason, the technical university has been preparing students for several years in “Electronics and Nanoelectronics”, “Mechatronics and Robotics”, “Technosphere Safety”.
Information directions and specialties
The second group of educational programs at a technical university relates to the information sphere. The list of directions and specialties includes “Information systems and technologies”, “Computer technology and information science”, “Innovation”, “Administration and software for information systems”, etc. All of them are in great demand. Due to the desire of many to enroll in the listed information specialties at BSTU, the passing scores have been slightly increased (compared to other educational programs).
Of particular interest at the university is “Vocational Studies” with a profile related to graphic design. This is a creative direction in which future educational designers study. It refers to information science, because students at the university spend a lot of time on computers, studying multimedia technologies, computer graphics, Web design, and computer software for design.
Programs from the humanitarian and economic fields
The third group of directions and specialties at BSTU Bryansk includes one humanitarian educational program - “Sociology”. It is chosen annually by those applicants who want to be sociologists in the future and engage in the assessment of social problems and processes.
Economic directions at BSTU are represented by “Economics”, “Management”, “Trading”, “Business Informatics”. There is also one specialty related to training personnel for the field of economic security.
Passing scores
When getting to know the university, applicants strive to find out more information not only about the directions and specialties, but also about the passing scores at BSTU, because there are many budget places and every applicant wants to receive a free education. In general, an analysis of information from past years shows that becoming a student is not so difficult. For example, in 2016, according to the admissions committee of the Bryansk State Technical University, the average score of those admitted to budget places was:
- 55.0 at the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology;
- 55.5 at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Transport;
- 56.7 at the Educational and Scientific Technological Institute;
- 62.8 at the Faculty of Electronics and Energy;
- 63.7 at the Faculty of Management and Economics;
- 65.1 at the Faculty of Information Technology.
In conclusion, it is worth noting that the technical university is proud of its students. At this educational institution, they not only receive a high-quality education, but also spend their free time interestingly and with health benefits in the sports, gym, boxing and dance halls of the university. Students and graduates invite applicants to enroll here. Low passing scores at BSTU will allow newcomers to become members of a friendly student team.
